This year's Christmas gift idea:

Or, candied orange peels dipped in chocolate. Easy to make (if a bit time consuming), elegant, and delicious. What more can you ask for?

I probably never would have tried this recipe is it weren't for Deb Perelman's gorgeous photos, or her cranberry sauce recipe that I used for Thanksgiving.

I love these. There are so few chocolate stores that sell them, but I grab a bag whenever I can.

They aren't too hard to make yourself, if you're feeling enterprising. The hardest part is getting the orange peels not to burn during the candying process.
